Vietnam wishes to get more support from famous German universities, including Ott-Von-Guericke Magdeburg (OvGU) University.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement at a reception for Klans Erich Pollmann, Rector of OvGU University, in Hanoi on November 14.

Mr Nhan said the Vietnamese Prime Minister has approved a human resources development plan for 2011-2020, and expressed his hope that professor Klans will share his valuable experience in building Vietnam-Germany University.

Professor Klans said there is great potential for OvGU University to boost cooperation with Vietnamese partners. In the near future, it will join efforts with Vietnam-Germany University to train maters in the field of transport and boost cooperation with universities in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

He added that OvGu is also willing to provide further support for the Vietnam General Department of Vocational Training and Magdeburg University will sign cooperation agreement with Vietnam Electric Power University on November 16.

Professor Klans expressed hope that more Vietnamese will study at Magdeburg University which is now home to around 100 Vietnamese students.
