HCM City: Police bust large drug ring

Diep Tuan Anh, born in 1976, was arrested when transporting 0.5 kilogramme of crystal methamphetamine on April 21. He told the police that he bought the drug from Tran Van Nam. 

Searching Nam’s house in Binh Tan district, the police seized 3.7 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine and 292 ecstasy tablets. 

At Anh’s house in district 8, the police also found two guns and a small amount of drug. 

Initial investigation showed Nam purchased the drugs in China and transported by coach to Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, Tuan Anh, a drug distributor, used to buy drugs from Nam then sell to other members in the ring.

The police are continuing their investigation.
