Ho Chi Minh City leaders share pre-Tet joy with workers

Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City shared joy with 600 outstanding and poor workers in Suoi Tien Theme Park on February 13 ahead of the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem presented gifts to workers and listened to their aspirations. He also vowed to pay further attention to ensuring social welfares for them in the near future.

Participants offered incense to Hung Kings, enjoyed a meal and free games in the park.

Nguyen Hoang Nang, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (Hepza), said it is the 12th time the activity has been held by Hepza and the Suoi Tien Culture Tourist Corporation.

This year, Hepza held a number of activities to care for workers such as spring festival, selling discounted goods and giving gifts worth over VND85 billion (US$3.77 million) to workers.
