NLA welcomes public opinions on draft Fintech Act

The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) says people can now voice their opinions of the draft Financial Technology Act, commonly known as the Fintech Bill, via the Secretariat of the Senate’s website.

NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai said the objective of the draft Fintech Act is to facilitate digital transactions, which have increasingly become more popular among the public and the private sector.

The Fintech Bill will regulate how digital financial services should be provided.

While the law is being drafted, the NLA is accepting public opinions and suggestions which can be submitted directly to the Secretariat of the Senate until September 14th.

A seminar will also be held to solicit more input, according to the NLA president, adding that the law will enable people to access financial services more easily.

The president said however, there are certain issues surrounding digital money transfers that the law alone can’t resolve.

He urged relevant agencies to look into these problems and come up with solutions that will benefit the consumers.
