Noi Bai Airport ‘fully recovers’ from cyber attack

VOV.VN - The Noi Bai Airport has fully recovered after a cyber-attack from a group of Chinese hacktivists named China 1937CN Team delayed operations at 21 airports throughout the nation.

The cyber-attacks started on Friday afternoon, on July 29, and were initially detected at the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and subsequently the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.

Hackers breached the airport's sound and video systems to broadcast and display offensive messages towards Vietnam and the Philippines, along with politically incorrect information about the East Sea.

Computer systems at 21 airports experienced problems attributable to the attack.

By 6:30 all services had been restored, and everything was back as normal.

Chinese hacktivism came to life after a court ruling at The Hague ruled against China at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, in favour of the Philippines in a dispute involving the East Sea.
