PM Phuc convenes urgent meeting on COVID-19
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on January 28 chaired an urgent meeting on COVID-19 prevention and control at Hanoi’s National Convention Centre where the ongoing 13th national congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is taking place.
The meeting was attended by three Deputy Prime Ministers, the Minister of Health and many other senior officials of the Government and related ministries.
Walking out of the meeting room, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh said the PM’s directions and conclusions would be announced by the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
Preventive measures against COVID-19 are being tightened at the National Convention Centre. All delegates entering and coming out of the venue are required to wear face masks.
The urgent meeting was convened after two community cases were announced by the Ministry of Health on January 28.
Hai Duong and Quang Ninh provinces, where the two cases were confirmed, moved to conduct massive COVID-19 testing to early detect and quarantine suspect cases.
The Ministry of Health dispatched a contingent of epidemiological specialists to Hai Duong to assist the locality with epidemiological investigation and surveillance.
