Quang Ninh police seize haul of illegal foreign liquor

VOV.VN -Police in Quang Ninh province have seized approximately 1,097 bottles of foreign liquor that were being transported illegally by car.

Upon spotting a suspicious vehicle, registered 14C-244.90, local police stopped it as it was travelling through Hai Tien commune of Mong Cai city.

During the stop the driver was identified as Hoang Van Dai, 25, residing in Van Ninh commune. When questioned, he was unable to provide documents which clarified the origins of the foreign products in his vehicle.

The total value of the shipment was estimated at around VND2 billion.

Local police have asked the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee to fine the driver VND90 million for his part in illegally transporting the foreign products.

A further investigation into the case is now underway.
