Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, Suradech Waleeithikul announced that following a meeting between relevant agencies, it had been decided that disabled citizens should be allowed access to appropriate care at all of the government’s hospitals extending to provision of prosthetic limbs and other specialized equipment.
Specialized care is to be added to the Social Security list of accessible services and disabled citizens will be able to receive treatment without having to pay up front.
The office is currently expanding a program to encourage disabled individuals to undertake physical therapy by offering them financial assistance.
