According to reports delivered at the event, human traffickers have taken advantage of good ties between Vietnam and China and the two nations’ open policies as well as their personal relations along the shared border to carry out crimes. Vietnamese authorities have discovered about 400 cases of human trafficking every year, and in most of the cases, people have been sold to China.
It is anticipated that cross-border human trafficking from Vietnam to China will increase in the time ahead, especially through illegal marriages, forced labour, women trafficking and children kidnapping.
Police of the two nations discussed the contents of their joint operation and agreed to maintain a close coordination to fight human trafficking in each country.
