A Southeast Asian conference themed ‘Sewerage and Waste water Treatment –Toward Sustainable Development’ opened in Vung Tau City on October 12.

The two-day event, attended by senior experts and leaders of regulatory agencies in the field from Southeast Asia, Japan, ADB, and JICA, focuses on the aspects of service delivery, financing, technology, maintenance and capacity building.

It is expected to provide a platform for participants to discuss and present best practices and lessons learned from different countries in the region with the aim of promoting and developing the water sector.

Thirty presentations are to be made at the conference, jointly held by the Southeast Asian Water Utilities Network, the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, and the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction.

On the occasion, consultancies and providers of water materials and devices will exhibit technologies and initiatives in operating sewerages or in environmental sanitation.
