Walk raises funds for AO victims

Nearly 10,000 people joined a walk at Dam Sen Park in Ho Chi Minh City on August 4 to raise funds for Agent Orange (AO) victims and disabled people.

This is the sixth such event held by the City’s Red Cross, aiming to mark 51 years of Vietnam AO/Dioxin Disaster (1961-2012).

It also helped millions of Vietnamese people and international friends gain a better understanding of the real situation faced by AO victims and the disabled in their efforts to overcome difficulties and integrate into the community.

The walk raised nearly VND 1 billion to support AO victims and disabled people.

Nguyen Thi Kim Luan, a worker at the Thai Binh Elevator Company, said this is the first time she has taken part in the event and said she hopes that her contribution will help ease the pain of AO victims and the disabled.
