VOV.VN - Women are set to hold key leadership positions in 60% of state management agencies and local administrations at all levels by 2025, increasing to 75% by 2030, according to the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the 2021 to 2030 period which was recently approved by the Government.

Moving forward, the strategy also outlines a number of new goals set by the country to make further progress in terms of gender equality across various areas, along with fulfilling its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

In line with this, the number of paid women employees nationwide will rise to 50% by 2025 and to around 60% by 2030. Elsewhere, the percentage of women working in the agricultural sector among all employed women is set to drop to below 30% by 2025, dropping to less than 25% by 2030.

Furthermore, the rate of female directors or business owners is anticipated to reach at least 27% by 2025, later rising to 30% by 2030.

The country is also striving to reduce the average amount of time that women spend on doing unpaid housework to 1.7 times that of men by 2025, dropping to 1.4 times compared to men by 2030.

Moving ahead to 2025, it is anticipated that 80% of women suffering from domestic and gender-based violence will receive access to at least one form of basic support services, with this expected to hit 90% by 2030.

The sex ratio at birth will stand at 111 boys per 100 girls by 2025, moving to 109 boys per 100 girls by 2030. The maternal mortality rate is also set to fall to 42 per 100,000 live births by 2025, and then to below 42 per 100,000 live births by 2030.

Moreover, gender and gender equality will be integrated into the national curriculum being taught at schools and pedagogical universities from 2025.

The nation will also be launching a month-long campaign to promote gender equality and gender-based violence prevention and response between November 15 and December 15 each year.
