Minh knocked out of International Badminton Open
Vietnam’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh was eliminated in the second round of the Paytren Berkat Anadi Indonesia International Challenge, held recently in Surabaya City, Indonesia.

Minh, ranked 52nd in the world, was the first seed in men’s singles. He easily beat host player Setyaldi Putra Wibowo, ranked 212nd, in the first round. However, he lost to another Indonesian player, 243rd-ranked Wisnu Yuli Prasetyo, in the second round.
In women’s singles, 55th-ranked Vu Thi Trang – Minh’s wife – came in as the tournament’s second seed.
She overcame Chiu Pin Chian from Chinese Taipei in the first round, 763rd in the world rankings, 2-0 (21-9, 21-17). Her opponent on October 25 in the second round is Jesica Muljati from Indonesia ranked 163rd.
