Minh knocked out of world badminton champs

Vietnam’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh was knocked out in the second round of the men’s singles at the World Badminton Championships on August 1.

The event was held at Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre in China.

Olympian Minh lost to No 16 seed Anders Antonsen of Denmark 21-16, 21-18 in 45 minutes.

Minh had beaten Maxime Moreels of Belgium 21-10, 21-5 in the first round.

The Vietnamese duo Bao Minh and Duong Bao Duc also lost to Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov of Russia 21-13, 21-14 in the men’s doubles.

The event will conclude on August 5.
