Nam rises one step in ATP world rankings

Vietnam’s top tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has risen one step in the latest Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings, announced recently.

The 19-year-old moved from the position of world No 641 to 640 in the men’s singles category.

Nam, who was born in the southern Tay Ninh Province, ranked 610th in the world last year.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hoang Thien dropped two steps to world No 1,443 and Trinh Linh Giang slid four slots to world No 1,643.

In the men’s doubles rankings, both Nam and Thien rose one spot to No 629 and No 794, respectively.
