Quang Liem 23rd in chess world ranking

VOV.VN - With an Elo rating of 2,737, Grandmaster Le Quang Liem now stands 23rd in the world at standard chess in the latest International Chess Federation rankings published in January 2018.

Toward the end of 2017, Quang Liem competed in two major tournaments, going on to win a bronze medal at the International Mind Sports Association Elite Games in China. Liem was less fortunate at the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, coming away empty handed.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son stands in 150th place in the world ranking for standard chess with an Elo rating of 2,630.

Female chess player Vo Thi Kim Phung has registered an Elo rating of 2,425 and ranks 40th in the world ranking for standard chess.
