Vietnam athletes join Rio Olympics 2016

VOV.VN - The first team of the Vietnamese sports delegation left for Brazil on July 25 for Rio Olympics 2016.

The track-and-field team including athletes Nguyen Thanh Ngung and Nguyen Thi Huyen and coaches Vu Ngoc Loi and Tran Anh Hiep and the fencing team including Vu Thanh An, Nguyen Thi Le Dung, Nguyen Thi Nhu Hoa, Do Thi Anh, and trainer Sergey Koryazhkin departed from Hanoi.

The same day, the weightlifting and swimming teams directly flew to Rio, Brazil from the US and Hungary where they had training courses.

As scheduled, other teams will fly to Brazil on July 27, 28, 29 and August 2.

The flag-raising ceremony of the Vietnamese sports delegation will take place on July 31. They will attend the opening ceremony of Rio Olympics 2016 on August 3.
