Vietnam moves up one spot in FIFA world rankings

(VOV) - Vietnam men’s national football team jumped one spot to 146th globally on the International Football Federation (FIFA) latest ranking released on January 7. 

The team maintained its third place in Southeast Asia, where Thailand remained on top after climbing 12 spots to 121st place worldwide, followed by the Philippines, which gained four spots to 135th position.

Iran led Asia after it was up two spots to 43rd globally while the second and third places were held by the Republic of Korea (world No 51) and Japan (world No 53).

Belgium remained on top of the world for the second consecutive month. Top 5 also included Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile.
