Vietnam to meet Hong Kong in Davis Cup

Vietnam will meet Hong Kong in group 2’s first round of the Davis Cup, Asia-Oceania zone, on February 3 in HCM City’s Phu Tho tennis club.

Vietnam’s team, ranked world No 57, are seeded No 4 in the Asia-Oceania zone.

Apart from world No 640 Ly Hoang Nam, the Vietnamese team includes world No 1,443 Nguyen Hoang Thien, national champion Pham Minh Tuan and young star Nguyen Dac Tien, who won the U18 ITF title.

Nam and Thien will play the single matches.

Hong Kong will have world No 913 Wong Hong Kit, world No 1,302 Tang Anthony Jackie, world No 1,568 Wong Chun Hun and world no. 1,511 Gastogi Karan on their side.

Vietnam defeated Hong Kong to earn a ticket to compete in the event’s group 2 in 2015.
