Vietnamese tennis players fly to Singapore ahead of Davis Cup 2019

VOV.VN -The Vietnamese national tennis team has departed for Singapore to compete in the Davis Cup Group III Asia-Oceania Zone 2019.

Making up the team are Ly Hoang Nam, Trinh Linh Giang, Le Quoc Khanh, and Pham Minh Tuan.

This year, eight teams will compete in the Davis Cup Group III Asia-Oceania Zone including world number 66 Vietnam, world number 72 Iran, world number 73 Kuwait, world number 83 Qatar, world number 87 Sri Lanka, world number 92 Syria, world number 96 Malaysia, and the host nation, world number 100 Singapore.

As the highest ranked team, Vietnam have been seeded first in Group A.

One of Vietnam’s key player, Ly Hoang Nam, has said he feels confident with his recent progress. He added that his weak forehand and serve had improved.

The Davis Cup Group III Asia-Oceania Zone 2019 is scheduled to take place between June 26 and June 29.

Eight teams are to be divided into two pools and will compete in a round-robin format.

The top three teams of the tournament will be promoted while the bottom two teams will be relegated.
