VOV.VN -A high-ranking delegation of the Vietnam National Assembly (NA), led by its Vice Chairman Gen. Do Ba Ty, visited Argentina from July 17-20 in the aim of promoting the partnership between the two countries and law-making bodies, as well as exchanging legislative experience.

At the meetings with Argentina’s parliamentary leaders, Ty affirmed Vietnam’s external policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of international relations, with greater attention given to developing strategic ties with Argentina.

He affirmed the Vietnam NA’s willingness to support the development of ties between the two countries, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Argentine parliament, adding that Vietnam has always greatly valued the Argentine people’s solidarity with the country during its past struggles for independence.

Vietnam desires to reinforce its comprehensive partnership with Argentina and expand cooperation in economics, investment, trade, defence, and security on a par with the sound political relations and potential of the two sides, he stated.

Ty thanked Argentina for its support at the UN and other multilateral platforms, saying that Vietnam is ready to closely work with Argentina on mechanisms for mutual benefits and for peace, stability, and development across the globe.
