Microsoft signs cooperative deals with Vietnam

(VOV) - The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) on March 6 signed a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft in Hanoi, with the aim of promoting information technology (IT) development across Vietnam.

Microsoft will help Vietnam modernise IT infrastructure, improve network security, and develop cloud computing and human resources, including knowledge, skills and software application development.

The IT giant will provide Vietnam with new technology and up to date trends, and consult with Government agencies regarding IT infrastructure development and safety solutions.

It will also share with MoIC its cybercrime centre’s monthly reports and security loopholes to raise security levels for each product, as well as organizing seminars on IT safety and cloud computing.

MoIC Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong said cooperation between Microsoft and MoIC has made significant progress in recent years, namely the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between State and businesses in 2007-2010 followed by a memorandum of understanding in 2010.

In the context of rapid development in cloud computing and mobile data and information safety, bilateral cooperation should be further strengthened to promote effective IT development in Vietnam, he said.

Microsoft also signed a MoU with the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team to improve computer and network security in response to increasing risks of unsecure information.
