COVID-19: No fresh community cases over 19 days with 947 recoveries

VOV.VN - Vietnam has entered the 19th consecutive day without any single case of community infection, while 947 COVID-19 patients were declared to be free from the virus, the Ministry of Health reported on September 21.

According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the infection tally stays at 1,068, with locally transmitted cases at 691, and imported cases at 377 which were immediately placed into isolation after arrival.

The same day, five more COVID-19 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recovery cases to 947.

The total figure for cases linked to the coronavirus outbreak in central Da Nang city since the recurrence of the disease in late July remains unchanged at 551.

The have been 35 fatalities relating to COVID-19, with most of them being elderly people with serious underlying health problems.

More than 24,620 people are still in quarantine across the nation, with 385 at hospitals, and the remainder at concentrated quarantine facilities and at home.

Among the active cases in treatment, 39 have tested negative for the SARS-CoV-2 virus once or at least twice.
