PM Pham Minh Chinh hosts Vientiane Mayor in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Atsaphangthong Siphandone, mayor of the Lao capital of Vientiane in Hanoi on October 4.
Chinh highly appreciated the sound socio-economic development achievements that the Lao State and people have recorded in implementing its renovation policy for nearly four decades, including important contributions by capital Vientiane.
He also hailed the positive results of cooperation between the two countries’ localities, especially between the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and Vientiane.
The PM affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always give the highest priority to maintaining and developing the special relationship between the two countries.
The government of Vietnam supports and creates favourable conditions for Hanoi and Vientiane as well as other localities of the two countries, to promote cooperation in all fields, he told his guest.
He asked the two capital cities to concritise high-level agreements between the two countries and bring into full play existing cooperation mechanisms.
He proposed that the two capital cities work closely with relevant agencies to speed up road connectivity, as well as economic connectivity through expressways, rail routes and seaports.
The PM underlined the need for the two sides to boost cooperation in education-training, human resource development, digital transformation, energy transition, green economy, and circular economy, alongside tourism, agriculture, services, and industry.
Mayor Atsaphangthong Siphandone briefed his host on the results of his working trip to Hanoi, and affirmed that Vientiane would continue to coordinate with Hanoi, other localities and agencies of Vietnam in effectively implementing specific cooperation programmes and projects between the two sides.
