Ben Tre sets national and global records for making most coconut-made dishes

The coconut festival is organised in Ben Tre province on June 27 to mark the occasion of the 200th birth anniversary of poet Nguyen Dinh Chieu who was born on July 1, 1822.

The highlight of the festival is several performances by artisans who come together to create 222 coconut-made dishes.

As many as 55 chefs are divided into 11 teams to get involved in cooking the dishes.

The purpose of the occasion is to promote local specialties and introduce a wide range of Vietnamese cuisine to both domestic and foreign friends.

With 222 coconut-made dishes being made in one go, Ben Tre has now been officially recognised as hosting an event processing the most coconut dishes in both Vietnam and the world.
