Lao Cai and China’s Yunnan province seek to build stronger links
VOV.VN - Localities in the northern mountainous border province of Lao Cai and Hekou district in China’s Yunnan province are striving to boost collaboration in economics, trade, and industrial parks moving forward, heard a working session held on December 31 in Lao Cai city.
Showing their elation at the fruitful co-operation and exchange ties between Muong Khuong, Bat Xat, and Bao Thang districts with the Chinese district in 2023, participants consented to strengthen friendship exchanges, economic co-operation, connectivity, and collaboration in investment, culture-tourism, education-sport, and cross-border labour, among others.
With regard to building ties in economics, trade, and industrial parks, the localities reached a consensus on enhancing connectivity in terms of policy, smooth circulation of labour, goods, and capital, as well as the organisation of trade promotion activities.
Additionally, they will work to bolster the export of high-quality farm produce and food while also developing cross-border e-commerce, with a particular focus on the formation of long-term linkage mechanism on customs clearance and measures as a way of further facilitating cross-border e-commerce.
The localities also consented to take turns to hold sessions on Party building and governance work.
An art programme to welcome in the New Year was held on the night of December 31 as part of efforts to further intensify cultural exchange, reinforce solidarity and friendship, and advance comprehensive and sustainable development of Lao Cai city and Hekou district.
