Fire destroys paper factory in Hai Phong

The fire quickly spread to the entirety of the 800 square-metre factory due to the large amount of flammable materials present, including scrap papers that had been pressed into large blocks.

After receiving reports of the ongoing blaze, hundreds of firefighters and a total of 10 fire engines were immediately mobilised at the sence.

It took fire crews approximately five hours to fully bring the flames under control. According to the emergency responders at the scene, the area inside the factory was still smoldering, meaning that further fires could potentially break out at any time. Therefore, they had to continuously pump water into the area.

No casualties were reported as a result of the fire, although police forces are now launching an investigation into the cause of the incident and calculating the overall damage.
