Brazilian Workers Party seeks stronger ties with Vietnam

VOV.VN - Romenio Pereira, the secretary for international relations of the Brazilian Workers Party (PT), paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Pham Thi Kim Hoa on November 4 at the Vietnam Embassy in Brazil.

Romenio is a notable figure in the South American country for being one of the founding members of the PT, an organisation that voluntarily fights for democracy, solidarity, social development, institutions, economics, law, and culture. The PT primarily aim to eliminate oppression, inequality, and injustice as a means of developing democratic socialism, and is the first aspect of the party’s leadership to be split equally in terms of gender.

During the course of the meeting with Ambassador Hoa, the PT official expressed his views on the strategic goals of his party moving forward, as well as the process of developing the party, a coherent foreign policy strategy, and a regional coalition. This is in addition to building a policy to promote the struggle for causes such as socialism, national independence, democracy, and the interests of the working people.

Pereira also expressed his great appreciation for the magnificent achievements of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and those of Vietnamese citizens in the renewal (Doi Moi) process. Indeed, the PT official desires to strengthen the friendship and co-operation between the two parties and people of both nations.

In response, Ambassador Hoa expressed sincere thanks for the very open exchange, stating that the friendship between both sides will become closer in the future.
