COVID-19: 12 Vietnamese returnees raise national infection tally to 1,300
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health on November 18 confirmed a further 16 imported cases of coronavirus, all Vietnamese, taking the country’s tally to 1,300, while the number of recoveries rose to 1,124.
All the new cases returned home from Russia, Canada, and Germany. They are currently put in quarantine to receive treatment at local hospitals after they have tested positive several times for the novel coronavirus
With the new infections, the nation’s total COVID-19 cases amounted to 1,300, including 691 local transmissions, 551 linked to the outbreak in Da Nang, the nation’s COVID-19 epicentre since July 25, whilst 609 cases are imported and put into quarantine immediately upon arrival.
Among the positive cases currently receiving treatment, 34 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 at least one, while as many as 1,124 have fully recovered from the virus and nearly 16,400 people are in quarantine for medical monitoring nationwide.
35 coronavirus patients have died as a result of severe chronic diseases and COVID-19 related complications.
The country has gone the 77th straight day without any single case of local transmission.
