Khanh Hoa welcomes first visitors of Lunar New Year festival
VOV.VN - The southcentral province of Khanh Hoa welcomed its first 138 visitors of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, on a Vietnam Airlines’ flight departing from Hanoi on the morning of February 1.
Upon their arrival in the locality, passengers were treated to an enticing welcoming ceremony featuring flower bouquets, gifts, lucky money, and lion dance performance. The first three passengers also received a special gift from Vietnam Airlines.
The welcoming ceremony served to open a broad array of activities and events which will occur over the coming year as part of the province’s tourism industry.
This year, Khanh Hoa aims to serve more than 1.2 million visitors, including 1.6 million domestic tourists. Tourism revenue is expected to stand at VND4,000 billion, up 80% compared to the previous year.
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, said the locality has successfully brough the pandemic under control as most of its residential areas are categorised as “green zones”.
She added that approximately 70% of the adult population aged 18 and above have now been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
This is a premise in which to deploy programmes and activities to serve guests during the Tet holiday and boost the local tourism after a long pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
