VOV Online hosts forum on prospects of Vietnamese energy industry
VOV.VN - The Voice of Vietnam online paper (VOV Online) and other relevant agencies will co-host a forum in Hanoi on October 12 to discuss challenges to energy security and ways to accelerate energy transition in Vietnam.
The event will provide an ideal venue for industry insiders to hold in-depth discussions about the trend of using liquefied natural gas (LNG) energy both domestically and internationally, the deployment of policies aimed at attracting foreign investment into clean energy, as well as advantages and difficulties in developing renewable energy sources.
The forum is expected to see experts propose appropriate measures to develop the energy industry, along with mechanisms and policies to speed up the restructuring of power sources in a proper direction in order to ensure national energy security.
Vietnam has begun to set goals for developing green energy whilst reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The country has exerted great efforts and is determined to realise its commitment of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 as announced at the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).
It has signed a deal on the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) with the group of seven developed nations (G7) that have pledged US$15.5 billion for the country’s energy transition strategy.
