NA Standing Committee’s 23rd session concludes

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee discussed preparations for the fifth sitting of the legislature and adopted two resolutions during six working days of its 23rd session that wrapped up in Hanoi on April 17.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan speaks at the closing session.
In her closing remarks, NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked the Government and the NA’s committees to coordinate with agencies of the Government and others concerned to acquire opinions of the NA Standing Committee to promptly complete draft laws, supervision reports and draft law making programmes in 2019.

Such documents should be sent to NA deputies ahead of the fifth meeting in May as scheduled, the top legislator said.

She also called for joint efforts between the NA’s relevant committees and the Government to swiftly prepare for the submission of the draft Law on Public Security (amended) and the law amending and supplementing laws relating to the Planning Law to the 24th session of the committee slated for May 14-16.

The 24th session, the last one before the fifth meeting of the NA, will focus on socio-economic issues, state budget, voters’ opinions and a number of draft laws and resolutions.

Earlier, the legislators looked into the law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Construction Law, the Housing Law, the Law on Real Estate Trading and the Law on Urban Planning.
