Portal on martyrs to be launched
An information portal about martyrs and martyr tombs and cemeteries will be launched next month to commemorate War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day on July 27.

The portal is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Vietnam Post.
The country currently has about 1.2 million martyrs and nearly 3,000 martyr cemeteries. About 200,000 martyrs’ remains have not been interred in cemeteries.
Insufficient information on more than 300,000 martyrs interred in cemeteries is also a major problem.
The portal is expected to help martyrs’ families gain easier access to accurate information about cemeteries and tombs, which will address the difficulties they encounter whenever they try to look for martyrs’ tombs.
In another development, a pilot programme on resolving in-stock documents about military volunteers is being conducted in the provinces of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh following a request from the Minister of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Dao Ngoc Dung.
Statistics from the Vietnam Former Military Volunteer Association showed that nearly 400 former military volunteers across the country were not recognised as martyrs, and more than 6,500 were not recognised as invalids. More than 10,700 of their family members did not receive any support as a result of lost documents.
