European Book Days 2018 opens in Hanoi

VOV.VN - The 2018 European Book Days festival was opened in Hanoi on May 5 by the Association of European Cultural Institutes and Embassies (EUNIC).

European Book Days is being held for the 8th time in Hanoi and will run until May 17, attracting10 European nations.

Addressing the festival, EUNIC President Emmanuel Labrande emphasized that the event offers a wide range of literary works from Austria, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, France, the Czech Republic, Spain, Sweden, Italy, and a Wallonie-Bruxelles delegation. He expressed his hope that through the event’s diverse activities, readers will discover new and interesting literature suited to their tastes.

Numerous cultural and art activities are also planned to attract and entertain book lovers, such as book presentations, workshops, exhibitions, film screening, quiz games, and big discounts on European books.

The European Book Days festival has been held annually in Hanoi since 2011.  Organised by EUNIC with support from the EU Delegation, the event aims to share the cultural quintessence of European literary works with Vietnamese readers.

This year's festival has displayed various book titles and organised a range of activities to introduce visitors to European literary works, lifestyles, and cultures.
