HDBank, Sacombank named among best companies to work for by HR Asia

HDBank, Sacombank, ABBANK, and VNG have won the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2021’ award from HR Asia, an authoritative regional publisher in the human resources industry.

The awards were given country-wise and in Vietnam they were based on the responses by some 30,000 employees from 581 companies in many industries to the Total Engagement Assessment Model survey to measure their satisfaction with the workplace environment.

The survey was based on three criteria: collective organisation for real engagement (Core), emotional engagement, intention, motivation, advocacy, and behaviour (Self), and collective consciousness, workplace sentiment and team dynamics (Group).

HDBank was the only company in the banking sector to make the list for a fourth year in a row.

According to HR Asia, HDBank has an outstanding human resource policy and attractive remuneration packages, and regularly organises “exciting” internal activities to increase employee engagement.

HDBank’s employees are motivated for self-improvement, willing to do more than their responsibilities to support other departments and always support colleagues when needed, the survey found, indicating close binding and trust between employees and the leadership and a strong culture of teamwork.

HR Asia hailed Sacombank for its transparent and professional human resource policies in terms of promotion, salary and bonus, welfare, and training, investment in modern technology for HR management and corporate culture that spreads positive energy and employee engagement.

Starting with 100 employees when it was established in 1991, it now has over 18,500 people.

Le Duc Thinh, deputy CEO of the lender, said, “Employees are our most valuable asset, and Sacombank focuses on creating a friendly and professional working environment. All employees are given the opportunity to develop a sustainable career, and maximise their value and capacity.”

Tech giant VNG Corporation has been named for a third year as its efforts for human resource development over the last 17 years pay off.

It earned high scores in the survey’s three criteria --Core, Self, Group -- which determine the satisfaction of the individual in an organisation.

The awards committee said, “The corporation creates a different corporate culture and environment for encouraging its employees to develop.”

ABBANK won the award for a second year in a row.

All scores this year are higher than in 2020, and it got a near-perfect score of 4.85/5 in the Core and Self groups.

Le Hai, the lender’s CEO, said creating a working environment for employees to develop was always the top priority.

“ABBANK has been and will continue to make efforts to create a working environment with a culture rich in ‘An Binh’ [that features] friendliness, empathy, engagement, creativeness and effectiveness" in which where each employee has the opportunity to improve their professional skills, he added.
