After two days of the 10th National Party Congress, Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has continued receiving a lot of opinions from Party members and local people.

All Vietnamese people hope that the congress will devise policies to meet their wishes and select talented and virtuous officials to lead the country to stronger development during its industrialisation and modernisation process.

Regarding Party building, Tran Van Ky from Phuoc Long, Nha Trang City, south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa proposed the congress spend a lot of time discussing Party building work and point out who is responsibility for relaxing Party building work in recent times. If Party building is implemented well, the country will obtain more achievements, he said.

Phan Van Chau from Binh Thanh village, Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap province
said each Party cell has to review its responsibility and work. He also proposed the congress devise more specific measures to improve Party building at grass-root levels.

Dau Dinh Minh, deputy head of central Quang Binh province’s Religion Department
said in recent times, the Party has devised proper policies to encourage Catholic followers to actively contribute to the country’s industrialisation and modernisation process. In the future, the congress should promote democracy and improve cultural and spiritual living standards for Catholic followers, he added.

Ho Dac Thuan, a secretary to the Youth Union of Duong Dong, Phu Quoc district, southern Kien Giang province,
said Phu Quoc youth warmly welcome the 10th National Party Congress. “I hope that the congress will continue implementing renewal policies, paying attention to the economic development of local people,” Mr Thuan said. “The Party should provide youth with proper knowledge of revolutionary work and create favourable conditions for them to make more contributions to the country’s development.”

Le Thi Hoa from Chu Mo Tao, Mo Troc district, Central Highlands of Dak Lak province,
said as a young person, he pays attention to two major issues: the country’s policies in the regional and international integration process and solutions to cope with corruption. She hopes that the congress will devise proper policies to help the country develop strongly.

Le Thanh Nam from Tan Binh district, HCM City:

“Through information about the 10th National Party Congress I have gathered from the mass media, it is clear that our Party has daringly looked into the country’s existing problems and has made public its shortcomings in order to find solutions to deal with them in the coming time.”

“I hope that the Party’s shortcomings will be redressed at the 10th National Party Congress. Accordingly, the congress must map out detailed programmes and clarify the responsibilities of each individual so as to consolidate people’s trust in the Party.”

Y Long, a teacher from a boarding school in the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong:

“I want the Party congress to speed up the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, particularly as the country is integrating into the international economy. The Party should have enthusiastic and outstanding leaders, as well as young staff. The Party should also focus on leadership and increase its role.

“It is essential to have concrete policies on ethnic minority people and those who are living in far-flung areas. In addition, the Party should issue legal documents to intensify supervision work. Through the congress, I hope that the Party will make breakthroughs so as to lift the country out of its underdeveloped state as soon as possible.”

Nguyen Thi Hanh, a resident in Hanoi:

“All people in Hanoi expect that the success of the 10th National Party Congress will create a new stage of development in the national cause of industrialisation and modernisation. I hope the congress will be a great success.”

“I also hope that the congress will select talented and virtuous leaders to further develop the country.”

Le Thi Luoc, secretary of Party cell in Mai Dich ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi:

“I think that delegates at the congress should focus their discussions on combating corruption. I believe that the congress will gain greater success.”

Giang Ngoc Phuong, deputy head of the HCM City Students’ Association:

“The speech made by Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh at the opening ceremony outlined the Party’s policies. Our Party affirmed that Vietnam will soon become an industrialised country, bringing happiness, prosperity and independence for local people. The Party has also paid due attention to completing regulations of its supervision work.”

“I think that it is essential to increase the combative spirit of the Party and help it become a driving force behind national development in the 21st century.”
