Health Ministry confirms more 95 domestic COVID-19 cases over six hours

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Health (MoH) reported the detection of 100 fresh cases of COVID-19, including 95 domestic cases and 5 imported infections at midday on June 22.

Ho Chi Minh City reported the highest number of infections at 37, followed by Binh Duong at 33, and Bac Giang at 10.

Of the cases recorded nationwide, 89 cases were detected in isolation or lockdown areas.

The new cases recorded in the northern province of Bac Giang province were mostly linked to previous outbreaks which had hit industrial parks, with all cases being placed into quarantine.

The majority of the fresh cases in Binh Duong are related to existing outbreaks and came into contact with infected patients, while the newly detected cases in HCM City are related to the Christian mission cluster or are under epidemiological investigation.

Most cases in other localities are either F1 contacts or are tied to previously confirmed outbreaks.
The total number of community infections since the resurgence of the virus in April has now reached 10,352 across 42 provinces and cities nationwide.

To date, the country has documented 11,922 domestically-transmitted infections and 1,708 imported ones. Among the active patients under treatment, 650 have since tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 at least once.

According to the Treatment Subcommittee under the MoH, roughly 185 seriously and critically-ill patients are receiving COVID-19 treatment, including 13 who need the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) intervention.

As of the morning of June 22, more than 7,000 remaining COVID-19 patients were undergoing treatment at 97 medical facilities across the country.

Approximately 2,000 COVID-19 patients in Ho Chi Minh City, the nation’s second worst-hit locality, are being treated at six medical facilities. Among them, 660 cases have since tested negative between one and three times.
