Number of newly established businesses hits record high this year
VOV.VN - Approximately 160,000 new firms have been established this year, representing a rise of 7.2% against the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
This is the first time that the number of newly-established enterprises has hit a record high this year, marking a 1.2-fold rise compared to the average level for the 2017 - 2022 period and up 4.6% against the set plan for the year.
Although the number of newly-registered businesses in the first quarter of the year dropped by 2% year on year to 33,905, the figure was 1.02-fold higher compared to the average level recorded in the 2017 - 2022 period.
Thanks to the Government’s drastic solutions aimed at removing obstacles for the business community, the number of newly-registered firms has increased considerably in the following quarters, standing at over 40,000 businesses quarterly.
In the fourth quarter alone, there were a total of 42,952 newly-established firms, up by 20.2% compared to the same period last year and 1.3 times higher than the average quarterly level in the 2017 - 2022 period.
The Government’s drastic solutions include lowering lending interest rates, stabilising the foreign exchange market, accelerating disbursement of public investment capital, deploying credit packages to support industries, along with tax and land use incentives for businesses.
Furthermore, the e-visa validity period was extended for tourists while difficulties in the corporate bond and real estate markets were removed.
Most notably, there were more than 58,000 businesses resuming operation this year, bringing the number of enterprises operating in the market to more than 200,000, up 4.5% year on year.
