Overseas Vietnamese Youth Camp closes
Expat youth are very proud of the nation and always turn their mind to the homeland.
After a 19-day journey through the northern, central and southern regions of Vietnam, the OV Youth Camp closed on July 30 in Dat Do district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province with an art performance entitled “Returning to the Red Land”.
This was also the theme of the camp to mark the 60th death anniversary of heroic martyr Vo Thi Sau.
Earlier, the OV youth visited the Hang Duong cemetery, Quay 914 relic site and Con Dao prison.
Before stopping in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, they traveled along the country and took part in many activities in commemoration of ancestors and heroic martyrs, such as laying wreaths at the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, offering incense at a statue in Dong Loc historic junction, and visiting some scenery in Ninh Binh, Hue, Da Lat and Nha Trang.
Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the camp provided a good chance for the expat youth to meet with their fellows and gain a better understanding of the nation’s century-long and tradition of great unity.
