The Vietnam - China Committee for Land Border Demarcation and Border Marker Planting held their 23rd Chairman-level Round in Hanoi from January 14-21.

The two sides reviewed the positive results of the land border demarcation and border marker planting process in 2007 including the successful completion of the work in Lao Cai and Ha Giang provinces.


Both sides also discussed unsolved issues and agreed to take concrete measures to speed up the process. They affirmed their determination to complete the process and sign a protocol on border demarcation and border marker planting in late 2008 as agreed by the leaders of the two countries.


On January 19, Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Dung received two delegations from Vietnam and China and witnessed the signing of the minutes of the meeting.

ound will be held in Beijing in February 2008.
