Vietnam, Laos strengthen collaboration in inspection work

VOV.VN - Vietnamese Deputy Inspector General Bui Ngoc Lam and his Laotian counterpart Sukkhamphet Heuangbutsi held talks on August 7 in Vientiane to discuss measures aimed at strengthening co-operation in inspection work.

Both sides briefed each other on the socio-economic situation which occurred in the first half of the year, as well as sharing experience in directing and administering the inspection and anti-corruption work in each country.

Deputy Inspector Lam shared with the Laotian side lessons learnt by the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam in terms of directing, operating, and building inspection contents aimed at ensuring they are suitable to the situation and closely follow socioeconomic development requirements.

There were also lessons learned on ways in which to improve the overall efficiency of inspection activities by focusing on inspecting areas prone to negative phenomena and corruption, and organising unannounced inspections when signs of law violations are detected.

The two sides hailed the results of co-operation and the exchange of professional experience between the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam and the Laos State Inspection Authority over recent years. They affirmed that these experiences not only make their work more practical and effective, but also significantly contribute to the general fulfillment of their political tasks in particular and in terms of augmenting joint comprehensive co-operation.

Within the framework of the working visit to Laos, the Deputy Inspector is poised to pay a courtesy visit to Khamphan Phommathat, chairman of the Laos People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission and State Inspector General.
