SDU Lampang opens ethnic food festival

Suan Dusit University Lampang Campus has opened an ethnic food festival celebrating the diversity of ethnic communities in 17 northern provinces. 

Suan Dusit University Lampang Campus and the Tourism Authority of Thailand jointly hold "From Mountain to Kitchen of the Land" showcasing local foods from ethnic minorities in the 17 northern provinces. 

The first-ever ethnic food festival in the country is aimed to promote development and management of cultural heritage on food, which can help enhance the value of tourism and service sector in 17 northern provinces by promoting local identities through some 100 dishes from ethnic communities. 

The event, taking place until the end of this week, features showcases of traditional ethnic costumes, performances from artists, Thai-modern cooking contests using local ingredients under the concept "Journey of Northern Food: From Local 2 Table," SDU Cover Dance contests, and a photo exhibition on the charms of the mountains and nature and stories of ethnic communities.
