A conference of the Vietnam Business Council was held in Hanoi on March 9 by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in collaboration with the Hanoi Business Association, drawing more than 500 Vietnamese businesses.

Over the past years, domestic business associations together with relevant ministries, sectors and craft associations have actively engaged in the process of building laws and economic policies and served as a bridge for businesses to deal with pending issues.

Delegates looked at ways to increase the capacity of business associations, promote relations between them and entrepreneurs in employing workers, develop the domestic market and encourage Vietnamese people to use Vietnamese goods.

VCCI Chairman Vu Tien Loc said the conference offered a good opportunity for domestic businesses to enhance links and share experiences in competition on an equal footing with foreign businesses after Vietnam’s entry to the World Trade Organisation.
