The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has a plan to grant 2,000 scholarships worth VND1 billion to poor outstanding students in 22 provinces and cities nationwide.

The awards ceremony was held in Hanoi on December 14 as part of a study promotion programme. 2006 is the first year the VNPT has decided to provide 2,000 scholarships worth VND1 billion to students with special difficulties and those living in far-flung areas.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNPT official Tran Manh Hung said that it’s the great honour of the VNPT to take part in such a significant programme, aimed at helping poor students continue their study and realize their dream.
