Dak Lak province has been selected to host the National Tourism Year 2009 in the Central Highlands. The province is gearing up for a successful launch of the event.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has held a meeting with leaders of Central Highland provinces to discuss measures to make thorough preparations for the National Tourism Year 2009.

Participants in the meeting said that the National Tourism Year 2009 in the Central Highlands aims to create deep impressions, introduce cultural identity of ethnic minority groups and organize ecological tours. In particular, Central Highland provinces have to make good preparations in terms of infrastructure, hotels, restaurants and vehicles to serve visitors.

Tourism activities will take place throughout the year so these provinces should closely cooperate with each other to create a series of special event to introduce advantages and potential for tourism development in the Central Highland region.

Dak Lak province was asked to build and submit a detailed plan to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consideration and then to the Government for approval by mid-April.
