Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Nguyen Minh Triet, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong on September 30 sent greetings to their Chinese counterparts on China’s 57th National Day (Oct. 1).

In their message, the Vietnamese leaders wrote that they believe China will continue to obtain greater achievements in its open reform process and national construction, thus further raising China's prestige and position on the international arena.

They expressed their pleasure at the strong and comprehensive development of the relations between the two countries over the past years.

“The Vietnamese Party, State, National Assembly, Government and people always respect the traditional friendship, neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation with the Chinese Party, State, National People's Congress and people, considering it a consistent, long-term, and important policy in the development of each country,” they wrote. “We totally believe that with mutual efforts, this relationship will be constantly strengthened and expanded.”

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem also extended a greeting message to Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.
