Stormy weather likely to hit East Sea in August

VOV.VN - The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that one or more tropical low pressure systems with storm potential to hit the East Sea and affect the mainland in August.

The northern and central regions are likely to see sweltering temperatures return with one or two heat waves in August, which are expected to be short-lived.

The most substantial rainfall of the rainy season in the northern region usually arrives in August, bringing with it a greater likelihood of heavy downpours and a higher risk of flash floods and landslides in areas prone to natural disasters.

In the central region, there is a chance for widespread rain from the middle to the end of August as the south-west monsoon is forecast to operate stably in the Central Highlands and southern regions and cause prolonged rain in these areas.

Localities are advised to be alert to rapidly developing tornadoes, hailstones and gales that might take affect some areas.
