Party General Secretary’s envoy visits China

VOV.VN - The Party General Secretary’s special envoy  Hoang Binh Quan is on a visit to China. 

During a reception hosted by the Chinese Party leader and President Xi Jinping on February 29, Quan said the Vietnamese Party and State will continue to pursue a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation, and development with respect for neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation with the Chinese Party and State. 

He said he hopes the two sides will work closely on implementing common perceptions of the two countries’ leaders and their agreements in order to deepen the Vietnam-China strategic cooperative partnership.

Chinese Party leader and President Xi Jinping appreciated Vietnamese Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong for sending an envoy to China to inform Chinese leaders about the outcomes of Vietnam’s 12th National Party Congress. 

Xi Jinping said the Chinese Party and government leaders treasure their ties with Vietnam and want both sides to strengthen political trust, and promote trategic cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges.

Earlier, Hoang Binh Quan held talks with Head of the Chinese Party Central Committee’s International Liaison Department Song Tao to inform the Chinese side about the outcome of Vietnam’s 12th National Party Congress.

Concerning Vietnam’s stance on the East Sea situation, Quan asked both sides respect each other’s legitimate interests, and strictly implementing their leaders’ common perceptions and signed agreements.

He also underlined the need to avoid actions that change the status quo or complicate and expand disputes, and work hand in hand to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea and settle disputes satisfactorily by peaceful means in line with international law and the region’s code of conduct.
