Coffee exporters explore African market opportunities

VOV.VN - A consultation session will be held on July 21 to offer Vietnamese localities, firms, and co-operatives the chance to seek partners and promote coffee exports to Africa.

The event will be jointly held by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and Vietnam Trade Offices in Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Nigeria.

During the function, representatives from Vietnam Trade Offices in African countries will answer queries put forward by businesses relating to product quality, payment and shipping methods, as well as the guarantee of import and export goods.

Experts will also give a warning about on widespread fraud in African countries such as through bidding procedures, and give advice to help Vietnamese businesses avoid risks when exporting coffee to this market.

Africa boasts great demand for coffee products, as it spends approximately US$750 million on importing coffee each year.

At present, Vietnam is one of the five main suppliers of coffee to this market. Apart from raw products, a number of Vietnamese processed coffee brands such as Trung Nguyen and King Coffee have also become increasingly popular in the continent.
