PM to chair Vietnam Economic Forum 2023
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is set to chair the Vietnam Economic Forum (VEF) 2023 to identify opportunities and challenges facing the Vietnamese economy next year, according to the Central Economic Commission.
The event, due to be held on December 17, will comprise four panel discussions with the participation of leaders from relevant ministries and localities, as well as international organisations.
Five major reports will be delivered, with a specific focus on taking full advantage of the signed free trade agreements (FTAs) in an effort to expand markets, accelerate digital transformation, fully tap into land resources for socio-economic development, and remove barriers for the development of science, technology, and innovation.
Other panel discussions will touch upon on issues relating to the financial and real estate market, the removal of bottlenecks for public investment, monetary policy management to ensure macroeconomic stability, as well as maintaining social welfare and employment in association with economic development ahead in 2023.
The VEF is an annual event that has been hosted by the Central Economic Commission since 2017.
The fourth VEF opened with the theme of ‘Building an independent and self-reliant economy associated with integration in the new normal stage’ was held on June 5.
The fifth VEF is expected to draw the participation of more than 1,000 delegates, both in person and via online platforms.
